The new direction of the Kobe Brand starts with the Kobe Proto 8 Halo
Following an extended period of mounting anticipation and initial glimpses of upcoming color variations, Nike has officially revealed the inaugural design set to revive the Kobe Bryant brand on the imminent Mamba Day, scheduled for August 24th. The grand unveiling took place during the SNKRS episode titled "Live From the Vault" on August 10th. The previously teased "Triple White" iteration of the Kobe 8 Protro has now been named as the "Halo" rendition – a collection curated by Vanessa Bryant, serving as the prelude to the upcoming procession of Kobe Protro models in the forthcoming years.

The entirety of the low-cut structure is decked out in pristine white tones, flowing an elegant fullness across one of Bryant's most cherished personalized designs. In terms of precise technical enhancements, the original 2012 model's Lunarlon midsole has been substituted with a drop-in construction incorporating React foam. Consumers of the initial pair frequently observed that, while indeed comfortable, the former cushioning shape was prone to gradual deterioration, consequently leading to a diminishment in its buoyant attributes. The integration of the esteemed React cushioning mechanism within the Kobe line provides a more methodical and enduring foundation underfoot.

The Nike Kobe 8 Protro "Halo" is set for its debut on August 23rd through the SNKRS app. Alongside this drop, there will be an apparel line. This apparel drop will consist of three different pieces. The first piece is an all white hoodie that adorns the Kobe Bryant logo in the front and then his two numbers 8 and 24 on the back. On the right sleeve of the hoodie in cursive is written the nickname of Kobe Brant the "Black Mamba." Whereas the left sleeve will carry the signature Nike swoosh logo. In similar fashion, the other two pieces which are a men's sized and big kid's sized t shirt will carry that exact same design on the front and back and side sleeves.
