Wilson creates a 3D printed airless ball for $2500
Wilson Airless Gen1™: A Game-Changer in Basketball Technology
Wilson Sporting Goods Co. unveils the Wilson Airless Gen1™, a groundbreaking 3D-printed basketball that eliminates the need for inflation. Following the success of last year's Airless Prototype, the limited-edition Wilson Airless Gen1 basketball hits the market on Feb. 16, exclusively at Wilson.

"We were overwhelmed by the excitement from our Airless Prototype, and we knew it was time to bring this rare, first-of-its kind innovation to the world," said Kevin Murphy, General Manager, Team Sports at Wilson. "Wilson has gone where no brand has gone before with the release of the Airless Gen1 basketball, further inspiring the next generation of sports innovation."

Innovative Features and Enhanced Performance
The Wilson Airless Gen1 boasts similar functionality to the prototype, but the Wilson Labs team has enhanced performance and streamlined the manufacturing process over the last year. The basketball nearly matches the performance specifications of a regulation basketball, including weight, size, and rebound. Crafted for play, the Airless Gen1 is a coveted, technology-infused product designed to inspire a new community of innovation enthusiasts and basketball fans.

Key updates and partnerships
Improvements to the Wilson Airless Gen1 include an upgraded lattice design for consistent performance, integrated manufacturing holes to expedite production, and enhanced customization with built-in labels displaying the unique production numbers. Available in jet-black, brown, and natural white colorways, the Airless Gen1 sets a new standard in basketball aesthetics.
The Wilson Labs team collaborated with partners such as General Lattice, DyeMansion, EOS, and SNL Creative to develop and produce the Airless Gen1 basketball, leveraging innovative processes for optimal performance and design.
